This CD album features baritone saxophonist Adam Schroeder. He's backed by guitarist Anthony Wilson, and veteran bassist John Clayton and equally seasoned veteran drummer Jeff Hamilton. Schroeder is listed as producer with Capri Records president Tom Burns as co-producer.

The tune selections are a mix of tunes by establishedcomposer/performers and some originals by Schroeder. All are skillfully executed and having the wonderful musicians for support. The result is excellent, as expected.

Schroeder distinguishes himself in performing melodic lines. Sometimes I'd think that he was playing tenor instead of the more husky-voiced baritone. One brief composition by Schroeder (1:43") entitled Contemplation is a baritone/string bass duet-hauntingly lovely. The last piece, also by Schroeder (3:43") is entitled The Smulyan Spectacles. Obviously, it's a compliment to bari saxophonist Gary Smulyan, an upbeat, boppish rendition. It's also a compliment to Schroeder for being to execute it flawlessly.
