    Release Notes:

After the first rumors that Discipline was going to record an album with covers
of their favorite songs, it took about a year more for this release to see the
light. But it has been well worth the wait, since the fans of this Dutch
streetrock monster are treated to no less than 30 songs.

18 of these songs were already released earlier, either on the studio-albums of
Discipline, or as contributions to several projects such as the ‘Wordwilde
tribute to the real Oi’ (pun intended). The second cd in this double-release
combines all the earlier covers by Discipline, so in case you were missing one
or a few of those, this is the chance to complete your discography. But I guess
a lot of you people are already familiar with these songs, and know that
Discipline has set the bar high for themselves, and it will be hard to top these
    early covers.

And that brings us to the first cd of this 2-cd package, which contains 12 new
covers. By the choice of their favorite songs, Discipline shows that it has a
broad interest in music, far beyond the limits of the streetrock scene,
including classic (hard)rock (Motörhead), Oi! (The 4-Skins), NYHC (Warzone,
Agnostic Front) and punkrock (The Ramones). More unexpected is the love
Discipline shows for more glamrock or hair metal-bands like Twisted Sister and
Slade, but the band pulls of those covers easily too. The album finishes with my
two favorite tracks: the unexpected ‘Delirious’ (Heavy Metal Kids) and the even
more surprising ‘Going to the run’ (Golden Earring). In my opinion, the band
took a big risk in covering the last song, because it is so famous (here in the
Netherlands at least) that it could have easily gone wrong. Some people say that
the choice of several of the covers is a bit too safe/cliche, but my personal
opinion is that Discipline opted for a nice mix between well known songs like
‘Rebel yell’, but also included less-likely candidates such as Motörheads
‘Stand’, where there would have been other, more famous options. The booklet of
this release includes some notes by singer Joost de Graaf as to why they
selected a certain artist or song to cover, so read up on that if you are
    interested.
Although there is a broad range in the songs that are selected for this album,
Discipline really made it their own, and the album almost sounds like a
    Discipline-studio album, and I think that’s worth a big complement. I'm very
happy that we got to hear some new material by Discipline, and I can't wait to
hear a couple of these covers live! Great release!
