Lynda.com - Home and Small Office Networking
with: Jeff Van West and Garrick Chow
Do you have more than one computer in your home or small office? If
you do, you need a network! Using the network, you can share a single
internet connection between all your computers, transfer files with a
few mouse-clicks rather than a pile of floppy disks, and work
wirelessly with your laptop from anywhere in the room. You can also
use your network for sharing printers, playing music, and vanquishing
the enemy in multi-player online games.

INSTALL NOTES
UnRAR with WinRAR and Burn or view on your harddrive by clicking on
either the WindowMode.exe or FullScreenMode.exe files.
POSSIBLE! ERROR MESSAGES
If you get any of the following error messages when clicking on the
.exe files, follow the advise below.
- Director player Error: Unable to load movie playlist. Does the
.INI file exist? It must contain a section ["Movies"] with an
entry 'Movie01=pathname.dir'.
- Director player Error: The Projector is Stopping
- Application Error The Application cannot run
- Director MX: Unable to create or save file
C:\(your file path)\(your projector).exe Your disk may be full.

Cause:The application path is too long. There is a system 125
character limit, which causes problems.
It appears that the files are being saved in a nested directory.
i.e. If the "path to the executable" is in the following sub-
directory, "G:\Shared Files\Downloaded Files\E-Learning Programs\
Lynda.com Tutorials\Lynda.com - Photorealism with Bert Monroy\
WindowMode.exe", the path to the executable is 129 characters long.
This will cause the user to get the error.
To avoid this, make sure to save the "path to the executable"
(WindowMode.exe or FullScreenMode.exe) closer to the root directory
(i.e. "C:\Lynda.com - [Whatever Training] "). This is why burning the
files to disk solves the problem for most people.
