La discográfica EMI pondrá a la venta el día 7 de noviembre un nuevo título de la serie Platinum collection, dedicada a los artistas más influyentes de su catálogo. Ahora es David Bowie el protagonista de este nuevo lanzamiento, que recoge un total de 57 canciones en tres CDs.
El álbum abarca el periodo que unánimemente se reconoce como el más prolífico y rompedor de la carrera de Bowie, el comprendido entre los años 69 y 87.

El primero de los discos ofrece canciones publicadas entre 1969 y 1974, época en la que Bowie abanderó el movimiento glam. En él aparecen temas clásicos como Space oditty, Ziggy Stardust, Changes o Rebel rebel, por citar sólo unas pocos.

El segundo CD (1974 - 1979), nos muestra al Bowie más ecléctico y experimental, con títulos como Fame, Look back in anger, Heroes o Young Americans.

Finalmente, el tercer disco se encarga de cubrir el periodo de 1980 a 1987, en el que el artista se adaptó con gran éxito comercial al sonido pop de los 80. Aquí encontramos canciones como Let's dance, Ashes to ashes, China girl o Blue jean, entre otros muchos títulos.

La serie Platinum ha dedicado ya volúmenes a nombres esenciales de la historia del pop y el rock como The Beach Boys, Bryan Ferry y Roxy Music, Genesis o Queen.
