Mientras los ejércitos de Alemania y la Unión Soviética luchan encarnizadamente y el mundo espera con ansiedad el desenlace de la batalla de Stalingrado, un francotirador ruso, Vassili Zaitsev, persevera en la empresa de eliminar a sus enemigos uno por uno.
