Starry Night 6 (astronomia)

Starry Night Backyard es un programa de astronomía el cual te va a hacer sentir que tu computadora es un planetario de alta calidad. Con este programa vas a poder explorar todo el espacio desde la tierra o desde cualquier parte del sistema solar. Podés "viajar" y aterrizar en cualquier planeta de nuestro sistema solar o en cualquiera de sus lunas y ver como se ve el espacio desde otro lados. Podés elegir la fecha que quieras (pasado o futuro) para ver como se comportaba o se va a comportar el espacio. Podés ver cometas, estrellas, planetas, nebulosas, galaxias, y hasta te grafica todas las constelaciones. No falta un solo detalle, hay información de cada uno de los objetos (distancia, tamaño, edad, etc). Además si tenés un telescopio capas de conectarse a tu PC, con este programa podés manejarlo y hacer que se mueva a las coordenadas que vos indiques.

The biggest single addition to Starry Night software since its inception is now yours in the Pro Plus version 6.0--a full-color AllSky CCD image mosaic of the entire night sky visible from Earth--a picture so detailed, it weighs in at an astounding 6.44 billion pixels in size. Named AllSky for its uniform coverage from pole to pole, it's a single picture of the whole sky that has now been precisely mapped to Starry Night's computer generated stars and databases. Previously only available to Windows users through Desktop Universe planetarium software, the display of the AllSky image has been drastically improved in Starry Night and is now accessible to Mac users as well.

Computer Images With Exquisite Detail
With Pro Plus version 6.0, you can view on your computer screen an image better than the best-trained human eye can capture in real-time viewing through a telescope on a "good seeing" night. You'll be able to see the entire Milky Way in exquisite detail and then zoom in to explore dust lanes and nebulae. Instead of dots and circles, you will see an actual photo of a star or a deep sky object.

Smooth and Swift Navigation
With Pro Plus version 6.0, you'll smoothly and swiftly navigate the full color AllSky CC photograph of the entire night sky, to a limiting magnitude of 14-15. Five years in development, the AllSky CCD mosaic is comprised of about 20,000 individual images, originally imaged at a resolution of 12 arcseconds per pixel with a scientific grade, custom built AP9E CCD camera. The AllSky image in Starry Night presents the entire sky as a full-color, seamless mosaic at 5 resolution levels depending on your zoom setting. This consistent resolution, color and depth of coverage eliminates the uncertainties of comparing images from many and varied sources. Zoom from the widest possible view of 180 degrees to 0.5 degree field of view.

System Requirements
A DVD-ROM drive is required for the installation of Starry Night Pro Plus version 6 on your computer.
Windows: Requires Windows XP, 800 MHz or higher processor, 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended) and 5 GB (11 GB needed for full install) of hard disk space. 64 MB (128 MB recommended) OpenGL 1.4 capable graphics card (OpenGL 2.0 is required for features like shaded sky, animated grass and fast AllSky rendering at wide FOV). Minimum recommended monitor resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. DVD-ROM drive required for installation.

Si, lamentablemente esta en Ingles, son 2 DVD, conviene instalarlos en version Full para que ande rapido (son 11gb)
Instalas los 2 dvd, luego te registras gratis en menos de 20 segundos y despues instalas la actualizacion, que seran 20 megas.
Como se muestra en la foto esta es la version PRO PLUS 6 (la mas completa)

Con respecto a los requrimientos tengo de placa de Video una GeForce 6600GT y a veces se traba un poquito, es bastante exigente. muy completo tene en cuenta que tiene 16 millones de estrellas, es un programa profesional pero que se puede usar sensillamente. Una de las cosas que me gusta es que tiene una base de datos de satelites que te los muestra en el cielo cuando pasan, con su respectiva info.

Al que le gusta la astronomia no le puede faltar

Si te interesa la astronomia de este mismo programa en la mula tenes la version 3.1 que tiene como 5 años ya y funciona de maravillas en una P3 450mhz 128mb ram
