Û± There are only a handful of rock artists that have ±Û
Û± proven to be as enduring and influential as Alice ±Û
Û± Cooper has over the years. Name just about any hard ±Û
Û± rock artist, and they've probably borrowed a thing or ±Û
Û± two from Alice. And on his latest studio recording, ±Û
Û± "Along Came A Spider" (issued via SPV Records on July ±Û
Û± 29), Alice has returned with a concept album with a ±Û
Û± sinister streak. ±Û
Û± ±Û
Û± "A dark and menacing album for dark and menacing times" ±Û
Û± is perhaps the most fitting description for Alice's ±Û
Û± 25th studio album overall, as a chilling conceptual ±Û
Û± thread runs through the songs, which are told through ±Û
Û± the voice of a serial killer named Spider — one that ±Û
Û± Alice describes as "an arachnophobic psychopath" (in ±Û
Û± the song "Catch Me If You Can"). Alice, the master ±Û
Û± storyteller, weaves a web of danger, intrigue and death ±Û
Û± that rivals his best work. ±Û

Û± Co-produced by Danny Saber, Greg Hampton and Alice ±Û
Û± himself, "Along Came A Spider" manages to marry both ±Û
Û± vintage and modern-day Alice. As theatrical as ever, ±Û
Û± the album is a sonic combination of familiar Alice ±Û
Û± musical elements from albums as diverse as "Billion ±Û
Û± Dollar Babies" and "Brutal Planet", with the ±Û
Û± storytelling of "Welcome To My Nightmare", capturing ±Û
Û± the historic dark side of Alice in peak form, an ±Û
Û± instantly recognizable presence that will be welcomed ±Û
Û± by his fans. Joining Alice on the album are members of ±Û
Û± his touring band — longtime Alice drummer Eric Singer, ±Û
Û± bassist Chuck Garric, and guitarists Keri Kelli and ±Û
Û± Jason Hook, with additional contributions from others, ±Û
Û± including Saber, Hampton, and renowned backing vocalist ±Û

Û± Saber and Hampton co-wrote several of the album's songs ±Û

Û± worked with many other artists, including THE ROLLING ±Û
Û± STONES, OZZY OSBOURNE, and DAVID BOWIE, while Greg ±Û
Û± Hampton's been working on a new album project teaming ±Û

Û± Who else but Alice Cooper, with "Along Came A Spider", ±Û
Û± would create a "love story" about a serial killer named ±Û
Û± Spider? His trademark is wrapping his victims in silk, ±Û
Û± and his victims are specifically chosen to feed his ±Û
Û± hunger to kill. But, upon meeting his (possibly) last ±Û
Û± victim, he falls in love with her and cannot kill to ±Û
Û± complete his plan. That could be his demise. ±Û
Û± ±Û
Û± Though it is often said about artists with as rich a ±Û
Û± history as Alice that their newest albums capture the ±Û
Û± essence of their greatest work, it may honestly be ±Û
Û± proposed that "Along Came A Spider" does exactly that. ±Û
Û± It's got hard rock with hooks, an Alice trademark ±Û
Û± ("Vengeance is Mine", "I Know Where You Live"), classic ±Û
Û± balladry, another Alice trademark ("Killed by Love", ±Û
Û± "Salvation"), and always with an overtone of evil, yet ±Û

Û± BECOMES Spider, telling the story of a cold-blooded ±Û
