Matt Penman and his fluid, sensual bass joins the magical drum work of Roberto Dani to accompany the piano expressions of Mika Pohjola, making this one of the finest jazz trios performing in the jazz world today! The trio works together flawlessly and in unison; perfect, nicely.
There are 9 selections on this CD: "A Farmer's Dream;" "And She Appeared" which runs 9"42 minutes and is a great adventure in jazz listening; "Kafeet;" "Relax in the Sun;" "The Myth of the Old Man," which has some haunting melody themes that will remain in the listeners' minds long after the last note is played; "Dionysios;" "The Ice That Breaks," an unusual moody piece of mystery; "Magneten;" and "Mood 4:30am," a 3:08 minute song worthy of air play on the jazz stations for its direct, simple beauty of statement and expression. "Mood 4:30am" is a fine gem of a song, a polished and classic jazz expression at its very finest by a musician who can both compose and play!
