Sinopsis:
Es 1953, Kilian abandona la montaña oscense para emprender con su hermano un viaje a Fernando Poo, una antigua colonia española en Guinea Ecuatorial. Allí les espera su padre, en la finca Sampaka, donde cultiva uno de los mejores cacaos del mundo. En la colonia descubrirán que la vida social es más placentera que en la encorsetada y gris España, vivirán los contrastes entre colonos y nativos y conocerán el significado de la amistad, la pasión, el amor y el odio.
